Privileges and Benefits - Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions govern and shall be applicable to the benefits and privileges awarded and/or offered by AirAsia Berhad (“AirAsia”) and/or via the Big Loyalty Program operated by AirAsia’s affiliate and loyalty program partner, Big Loyalty Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Think Big Digital Sdn Bhd) (“Big Loyalty”) in respect of the AirAsia Debit Card and the AirAsia Platinum Credit Card (“AirAsia Credit Card”) issued and powered by PermataBank in collaboration with AirAsia.

“Cardholder”, “you” or, “your” refers to you, the individual who has personally applied for and has been issued the AirAsia Debit Card and/or the AirAsia Credit Card by Permata Bank.

A. AirAsia benefits and privileges

  1. Introductory Free WiFi

    1. One time use only and strictly subject to availability and for a limited period only
    2. Only accessible by the Cardholder after activation of the AirAsia Credit Card (upon linkage of Cardholder’s AirAsia Credit Card to his/her BIG Loyalty membership account)
    3. The ROKKI 2MB Chats Plan is available on selected AirAsia AK flights ONLY which are WiFi enabled and can be used for WhatsApp, WeChat, LINE, Kakao Talk & Viber apps only
    4. Details are subject to change at any time without prior notice
    5. Important: Not all AirAsia planes are wi-fi enabled and hence this benefit may not be available on all AirAsia flights.

  2. Priority Check-in*, Priority Boarding* and Xpress Baggage

    1. Cardholders who have activated the AirAsia Credit Card are qualified for an instant upgrade to BIG Platinum Membership Status. Only AirAsia Credit Cardholders with a BIG Platinum Membership Status who login as a BIG Member at www.airasia.com or the AirAsia mobile app to book for flights will qualify for Priority Check-in, Priority Boarding, and Xpress Boarding at AirAsia’s operating locations.
    2. Priority Check-in, Priority Boarding and Xpress Baggage are subject to availability and only available at limited/selected airports.

      • Priority Boarding will be granted for every flight regardless of the departure location via Zone 1 Boarding access which is printed on the boarding pass;
      • Priority Check-in will be available only at Premium Flex and/or Premium Flatbed check-in counter at selected airports. As at present date, the Premium Flex and/or Premium Flatbed check-in counter is available at many of AirAsia’s operating locations and is subject to change by AirAsia from time to time and at any time especially if the Premium Flex and/or Premium Flatbed check-in counter open in new destinations or if existing ones close.

      Xpress Baggage will be granted to AirAsia Credit Cardholders via priority baggage tagging for checked baggage and this service is available only at the Premium Flex and/or Premium Flatbed check-in counter which is available only at selected airports. As present date, the Premium Flex and/or Premium Flatbed check-in counter is available at many of AirAsia’s operating locations and is subject to change by AirAsia from time to time and at any time especially if priority counters open in new destinations or if existing ones close.

    * IMPORTANT: The Priority Check-in, Priority Boarding and Priority Baggage benefits will not be available immediately when Cardholders apply for and/or receive their AirAsia Credit Card(s) and is subject to AirAsia’s confirmation of when these benefits will be made available to Cardholders.

B. Freedom Flyer Status under the BIG Loyalty Program

  1. AirAsia Credit Cardholders automatically qualify for the BIG Platinum Membership Status under the BIG Loyalty Program (operated by AirAsia’s subsidiary and program partner, Big Loyalty) for the 1st year only. AirAsia Debit Cardholders will qualify for the BIG Gold Membership Status respectively
  2. To maintain your BIG Platinum Membership Status for the 2nd year onwards, Credit Cardholders must:

    (a) reach the minimum spend requirement per year of IDR 12,000,000 annual spend by Cardholders

    Or

    achieve the required qualifying flown sectors pursuant to the BIG Loyalty Program membership terms and conditions i.e. having flown twenty-four (24) to forty nine (49) qualifying flow sectors with AirAsia and/or its affiliates within the preceding twelve (12) months.

  3. To maintain your BIG Gold Membership Status for the 2nd year onwards, Debit Cardholders must:

    (a) have a minimum balance of IDR 500,000 on the 12th month, every year

    Or

    (b) achieve the required qualifying flown sectors pursuant to the BIG Loyalty Program membership terms and conditions i.e. having flown fourteen (14) to twenty-three (23) qualifying flow sectors with AirAsia and/or its affiliates within the preceding twelve (12) months.

    The benefits above shall apply unless new AirAsia co-brand credit cards and/or debit cards are launched and have a different customer value proposition as determined by AirAsia and Permata Bank.

  4. The Cardholder’s membership status under the BIG Loyalty Program shall be reviewed for re-qualification for Platinum status under the Freedom Flyer membership tiers based on the anniversary month pursuant to the date of issuance of the AirAsia Debit Card and/or Credit Card to the Cardholder.

C. BIG Points Based Rewards

  1. In order to earn AirAsia BIG Points (under the BIG Loyalty Program) for your AirAsia Credit Card spend, Cardholders must first be BIG Members under the BIG Loyalty Program and have a valid BIG Loyalty membership account. You may register for the BIG Loyalty Program at www.airasiabig.com or download the AirAsia BIG Loyalty mobile app to create your BIG Loyalty account and link it to your AirAsia Debit/Credit Card through a card activation email that will be sent to you by Permata Bank. If you are an existing BIG Member, you just need to register your AirAsia Debit/Credit Card with your Big Loyalty Membership account via the SMS sent by Permata Bank.
  2. All retail purchases of principal and supplementary Cardholders will earn AirAsia BIG Points for spend transactions on your AirAsia Credit Card, except for installment purchases.
  3. The issuance of AirAsia BIG Points to the Cardholder’s Big Loyalty Membership account for spend transactions on the AirAsia Debit/Credit Card (including the management of the Cardholder’s BIG Member ID and management of the Cardholder’s Big Loyalty Membership account) is operated by AirAsia’s subsidiary and loyalty program partner, Big Loyalty and is subject to the terms and conditions of the BIG Loyalty Program, including any additional terms and conditional that may be imposed by Big Loyalty from time to time. The Big Loyalty membership terms and conditions are available on www.airasiabig.com or on the AirAsia BIG Loyalty mobile app.
  4. AirAsia BIG Points will remain valid for a period of thirty-six (36) months from the date of the last activity and will automatically expire at the end of the thirty-sixth (36th) consecutive month for which the BIG Member has not earned or redeemed any points.
  5. AirAsia BIG Points earned from spend by the Cardholder on his/her AirAsia Debit/Credit Card will be transferred by Permata Bank to Big Loyalty for crediting to the Cardholder’s BIG Loyalty Membership account every billing cycle. To check your accumulated number of AirAsia BIG Points, you can log on to www.airasiabig.com or view it on the AirAsia BIG Loyalty mobile app.
  6. To redeem your AirAsia BIG Points for AirAsia flights, you must log on to your BIG Loyalty Membership account at www.airasiabig.com or redeem via the AirAsia BIG Loyalty mobile app. The redemption of AirAsia BIG Points is subject to the redemption rules as determined by Big Loyalty in accordance with the terms and conditions of the BIG Loyalty Program.
  7. The terms and conditions for Cardholders to earn BIG Points from AirAsia Credit Card and AirAsia Debit Card are detailed in https://www.permatabank.com/airasiacards.
  8. AirAsia BIG Points are not transferable to any other card issued by Permata Bank. You cannot combine your AirAsia BIG Points earned on your AirAsia Debit or Credit Card with the points earned on your other Permata Bank credit cards.
  9. AirAsia BIG Points cannot be exchanged for cash or redeemed as rebate or credit to your AirAsia Debit or Credit Card.
  10. AirAsia and Big Loyalty shall bear no responsibility and shall not be liable for any damage, loss (including but not limited to direct, indirect and consequential loss), liability, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by the Cardholders in connection with or arising from the consumption or acquisition of a product or service acquired through the Big Loyalty Program or in respect of the earning of AirAsia BIG Points.

D. General Terms and Conditions

  1. The Priority Check-in, Priority Boarding and Xpress Baggage benefits are subject to AirAsia’s confirmation of when these benefits will be made available to Cardholders. Accordingly, AirAsia disclaims all liability in respect of any disputes or claims including any damage, loss (including but not limited to direct, indirect and consequential loss), liability, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by the Cardholders in connection with the unavailability of the same.
  2. By activating or using the AirAsia Debit Card and or Credit Card, Cardholders are deemed to agree to be bound by and subjected to the AirAsia Privileges and Benefits Terms and Conditions and any additional terms and conditions stipulated by AirAsia (including the terms and conditions stipulated by Big Loyalty in respect of the Big Loyalty Program) from time to time. These Terms and Conditions shall prevail over any inconsistent terms, conditions, provisions or representations contained in any other promotional or advertising materials for the AirAsia Privileges and Benefits. AirAsia reserves the absolute right to vary, delete or incorporate any additions to these Terms and Conditions (wholly or in part) from time to time without any prior notice to Cardholders.
  3. AirAsia reserves the right to vary, revise, amend, impose, substitute, add and/or change any of the Terms and Conditions applicable to the AirAsia Privileges and Benefits without prior notice to Cardholders. The revised and/or new Terms and Conditions will take effect immediately upon the same being posted on www.airasiacards.com (“Website”). AirAsia may issue a notice to Cardholders concerning any new or revised terms and conditions, but shall it shall not be mandatory for AirAsia to issue such notices and the same shall be at AirAsia’s sole discretion. Accordingly, notwithstanding the above, advance and prior notice of any changes to the Terms and Conditions applicable to the AirAsia Privileges and Benefits may not be given especially of it is deemed necessary to make any such change immediately. The latest version of the Terms and Conditions will be on the Website. We advise you to check the Terms and Conditions regularly whenever you visit the Website to ensure that you have seen it and are aware of our latest or updated terms and conditions in relation to the AirAsia Privileges and Benefits.
  4. The retention or use of your AirAsia Debit and/or Credit Card after the effective date of any variation, amendment, revision, substitution or change to the AirAsia Privileges and Benefits Terms and Conditions shall be deemed to constitute your acceptance of such variation, revision or change without reservation by you. If you do not accept the proposed variation, amendment, revision, substitution or change, you are entitled to terminate the use of your AirAsia Credit Card by contacting PermataBank, and the provisions relating to termination in accordance with Permata Bank’s terms and conditions shall apply.
  5. Notwithstanding the above, AirAsia reserves its absolute right to suspend, withdraw, cancel or terminate the AirAsia Privileges and Benefits (in whole or in part or any feature or benefit in relation thereto) without reason and/or any prior notice to the Cardholders. For the avoidance of doubt, withdrawal, cancellation, termination or suspension of the AirAsia Privileges and Benefits by AirAsia shall not entitle the Cardholders to any claim against or compensation from AirAsia or Permata Bank for any losses, damages, costs or expenses suffered or incurred as a direct or indirect result of the act of cancellation, termination or suspension.
  6. The AirAsia Privileges and Benefits stated herein may not applicable with any other on-going AirAsia offers, privileges, benefits, campaigns or promotions offered and/or operated solely by AirAsia or in conjunction with any of its partners, including other co-brand partners.
  7. All flight bookings made on AirAsia’s website, www.airasia.com shall be subject to AirAsia’s additional terms and conditions as stated therein including AirAsia’s terms and conditions of carriage.
  8. The decisions of AirAsia, Permata Bank and/or Big Loyalty in relation to every aspect of the AirAsia Privileges and Benefits shall be deemed final and conclusive under all circumstance and no complaint or dissatisfaction from any Cardholders will be entertained. AirAsia’s (or Permata Bank and/or Big Loyalty’s, where applicable) decisions in relation to all aspects of the AirAsia Privileges and Benefits is final, binding and conclusive under all circumstances.
  9. AirAsia and Big Loyalty shall bear no responsibility for any damage, loss (including but not limited to direct, indirect and consequential loss), liability, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by the Cardholders in connection with AirAsia Privileges and Benefits.
  10. Any rewards, special offers, waivers, benefits or privileges offered or awarded by Permata Bank to Cardholders in respect of the AirAsia Debit or Credit Cards (including but not limited to the Welcome Gift, waiver of annual fees, award of BIG Points by Permata Bank and so on) are strictly subject to Permata Bank’s Terms and Conditions and any other applicable terms and conditions that may be applicable from time to time. AirAsia and Big Loyalty assumes no responsibility and disclaims all liability in respect of such rewards, special offers, waivers, benefits or privileges offered or awarded by Permata Bank to Cardholders, and shall not be responsible or liable for any damage, loss (including but not limited to direct, indirect and consequential loss), liability, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by the Cardholders in connection with the same.
  11. In the event of any inconsistency, conflict, ambiguity or discrepancy between the English version and any other languages of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail at all times.
